“Unite to Prevent Corruption” Marathon | National Awareness Campaign

With International Anti-Corruption Day approaching, the nationwide “Unite to Prevent Corruption” was launched on November 16.
Held in the courtyard of Yerevan State University, the event featured a range of activities, including a public awareness march, a cycling parade, a caricature exhibition, and a flash mob of traditional Armenian dances.

The event was organized by the “For Equal Rights” Educational Center NGO in partnership with the Ministry of Justice, with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), within the framework of the “Armenia Integrity” project.
Deputy Minister of Justice of Armenia Karen Karapetyan, USAID “Armenia Integrity” Project, Chief of Party Tatshat Stepanyan, YSU Vice-Rector Mikayel Hovhannisyan, Anti-Corruption Commission Member Aramayis Pashinyan, and Gayane Abrahamyan, Founding President of “For Equal Rights” Educational Center NGO, welcomed the participants of the campaign and emphasized the importance of united action against corruption.
Following the opening remarks, 250 young participants marched and took part in a cycling parade through central Yerevan, raising awareness of the Whistleblower System and displaying posters condemning corruption.
The event concluded with a celebratory award ceremony for participants of the caricature and slogan contest and a flash mob featuring traditional Armenian dances.
The event is part of the “Youth for Human Rights and against Corruption” project, which aims at identifying key forms of corruption, as well as developing strategies to combat it. The project highlights the importance of the whistle-blowing system in raising public awareness and enabling enforcement through a series of events, including capacity-building training courses for journalists and young people from the regions of Armenia.
